SPC Bernard Hudgens - Hero On Call

I joined the Army National Guard in September 2004 to serve my country, but since I am a father of two I also wanted to be home with my family.

I was activated to help in the relief of Hurricane Katrina for two weeks. A month later I was activated again to help out when my state got flooded. Then I served a 12-month tour in Iraq, and I just returned.

The Army National Guard makes me very proud to be an American. I enjoy being able to have a military career. In the near future I hope to start college and achieve a degree in criminal justice.
